How to
Backwash a Sand Swimming Pool Filter
Backwashing a Sand Pool Filter is a bit easier
that a D.E. filter. But you should definitely backwash for a longer
period of time because you are actually just rinsing the sand in the
filter (rather than replacing it like a D.E. filter)
- Turn pump off.
- Turn multiport valve to backwash position.
- Open backwash gate valve ( if any ).
- Turn pump on and run it for 2 minutes.
- Turn pump off.
- Turn multiport to filter or rinse position.
- Turn pump on and run it for 1 minute.
- Turn pump off.
- Turn multiport valve to backwash position.
- Turn pump on and run it for 2 minutes.
- Turn pump off.
- Turn multiport valve to filter or rinse position.
- Turn pump on and run it for 1 minute.
- Turn pump off.
- Turn multiport valve to filter position.
- Close backwash gate valve (if any) &
turn pump on.
- Check pool water level after backwashing -
add more water if necessary !
